Deng Le

Deng Le is President of the Sichuan Sculpture Association, Vice-Chairman of the Sichuan Artists Association, Lecturer at Southwest Jiaotong University, and Art and Media Academy Editor at China Sculpture Magazine. He has major public installations all over China. The artist is based in Chengdu, Sichuan.

Deng Le is also curator of the documenta monthly salon series, Singularity, where he documents avant-garde and established artists of Southwest China centered in Chengdu, Sichuan. This monthly series also invites international artists who live in the area to speak about their hybrid art practice.

Each monthly meeting since 2011 discusses ideas motivating artists to talk about their artwork. Such topics include Heart Image 心象—Image of Otherness异象, Trajectories in Regional Heterogeneity, Temporal Texture, Notes on Deformation, No Light When You Ask for It, Intervention Art and the Art of Intervention, and Contemporary Art as Weak Universalism Marches On.
