Dr. Sophia Kidd
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Sophia Kidd is Associate Research Fellow at Sichuan University, and has served as visiting master class lecturer for Sichuan International Studies University, Göttingen University, and Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Kidd is Founder of Yan Er Lu Arts International, publisher of Igneus Press, and Managing Editor for the academic journal Literature and Modern China (Sichuan University). She has worked as a research-based curator for over twenty years, mostly in China and the USA. During this time, Sophia has worked closely with scholars, artists, and arts professionals, bringing them into relationship with contemporaries and communities throughout the world. Dr. Sophia Kidd’s most recent monograph is Culture Paves the New Silk Roads (Palgrave MacMillan, 202). Her latest chapter on literary geography appears in Spatial Literary Studies in China, (Palgrave MacMillan, 2022), and her recent guest-edited issue of The Cafe Review: The Chinese Issue (XPress, 2021) features new translations of poetry from the Southwest of China, with a focus on Chuanyu 川渝 poetry of Chengdu and Chongqing.

Mao Jing graduated from Sichuan University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, She works in administration and R & D at Yan Er Lu Arts International and Nuance Art & Culture. Mao Jing excels in conducting field research, where she gets to utilize her passion for listening to subjects’ stories, with a keen sense of how to capture change. she loves life.
Zhou Cheng

Zhou Cheng graduated from Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin with an MSc (Distinction) in Smart and Sustainable Cities (Urban Studies, Geography) and from Sichuan University with a BA in Broadcasting and TV (Communication and Media Studies). Zhou Cheng is the Media and Digital Marketing Manager for Yan Er Lu Arts International, based in Chengdu, China; and Nuance Art & Culture, based in Bellingham, USA. Zhou Cheng’s enthusiasm for bringing international creatives together drives him to learn more about intercultural exchanges every day.
Tink Zhong

Tink Zhong was born in Huizhou, Guangdong in 1998. Shizhi is her style name. She graduated from Sichuan University with a degree in Chinese Language and Literature. Currently Tink develops content while furthering aims in research and development at Yan Er Lu Arts International and Nuance Art & Culture. Her passions include meditation and writing about art and culture as a means to understand the world we live in. Her perception of art comes from compassion and awareness of human and existential relationships.

Qian, Mr. Jack
Jack Qian graduated from Xiamen University with a BA. He is currently reading for a MA in Translation and Interpreting at City University of Hong Kong. He is now engaged as a Translation Intern on various cultural translation projects for Yan Er Lu Arts International, Chengdu, China. He is an ascetic with extreme enthusiasm and devotion to language. Classical Chinese poetry such as Yuefu poetry of the Han Dynasty, Tang quatrains, Song poetry, and Yuan opera constitute his ideal and love for the Chinese language.
Esther Sun
Esther Sun recently graduated with an MFA from the University of New South Wales where she specialized in research into ideological and political contradictions between tradition and modernity. She focuses on representations of nationalism and Westernization, as well as upon notions of uniformity and diversity in geocultural landscapes. She spends her time covering exhibitions, artist talks, and other events in Chengdu and Chongqing, China which she captures in photography and video, contributing enormously to the documentation of Southwest China avant-garde art enclaves 1980’s through today.
Sophie Su
Sofie Su recently graduated from University of New South Wales with a MFA. She is an artist as well as an arts professional. Her work with Nuance Art & Culture in the US and Yan Er Lu Arts International in Chengdu, China involves on-the-ground field work, where she investigates the motivations, theoretical orientations, and methodologies of some of Chengdu and Chongqing’s most experimental and under-researched artists. She has participated in the group exhibitions Fault Line (Gaffa Gallery, Sydney, Australia) and Finishing in Focus (Comber St. Gallery, Sydney, Australia).
