Song Chen
Born in Luoyang in 1979 and lived in Shanghai in 2003.
Song Chen is an oriental eco-artist who creates contemporary art with clay culture as the carrier. With the persistent spirit of sticking to the local spiritual home and focusing on the ultimate destination of human beings, she silently plows in this world of clay art and creates a large number of art works that are appealing to the human heart. Her creations are often made of the simplest soil and cover a variety of mediums, including installation, performance, video, and mixed media.
Song Chen’s clay series have been exhibited at Art Hong Kong, Art Basel HK, Shanghai Art Fair, ART021 Contemporary Art Fair in Shanghai, and West Bund Art & Design in Shanghai, etc. Among them, Walking Landscape Series Ⅰ and Walking Landscape Series Ⅱ have been collected by Yuz Foundation, and Dust to Dust series have been collected by Princess of Uzbekistan.
